Traveling for Breast Reconstruction


If you will be coming from out of town for breast reconstruction surgery, our office staff can assist you in making travel arrangements to New York City or Fairfield County, Connecticut. We recognize that traveling to undergo treatment may be stressful, so our goal is to make sure that any inconvenience is minimized so that you can stay focused on healing.  If you would like our office to assist you with travel plans, please let us know. Breast Reconstruction in New York City: Travel Information

People come to New York for medical care from all over the country and abroad in order to see , a particular specialist, or to receive treatment using procedures unavailable in their own communities. 

We can help arrange for patients who will come from out of town to New York City to stay in one of numerous local hotels, or at special facilities for patients such as Hope Lodge or Miracle House. We are also able to arrange for special rates at several area hotels.

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodges offer accommodations for cancer patients and their families when home is far away.. New York City’s Hope Lodge offers comfortable guest suites, with access to communal kitchens, activity rooms, and services. Miracle House is Manhattan’s “hospitality house,” providing lodging, meals and volunteer advocacy support for out-of-town patients with serious illnesses and for their caregivers. Miracle House volunteers greet every newcomer, host daily breakfasts and dinners, and act as advocates for our guests. Breast Reconstruction in Fairfield County, Connecticut: Travel Information

For out-of-town patients who wish to have their surgery at Greenwich Hospital, arrangements can be made for you and anyone accompanying you to stay at an area hotel or local bed and breakfast. A number of hotels in the area offer special rates for patients undergoing treatment at Greenwich Hospital. Greenwich, is a lovely Fairfield County, Connecticut town just next to Stamford, Connecticut. Less than 40 minutes by train from New York City’s Grand Central Station, Greenwich provides visitors with access to parks, museums, seashore, dining, shopping and the arts. Traveling by Air at No Cost for Breast Reconstruction

Patients who will travel by air to undergo treatment may be able to travel at no cost using the Corporate Angel Network or Angel Flight. The Corporate Angel Network is a charitable organization that arranges free travel on corporate jets for patients traveling to or from an approved cancer centers. Angel Flight is a non-profit charitable organization of pilots and volunteers that arranges free air transportation for medically related treatment. Our office can help you make arrangements with these no-cost flights.
