Dr. David T. Greenspun is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon practicing in New York City and Greenwich, Connecticut. He specializes in microsurgical perforator flap breast reconstruction but also performs an array of other plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Greenspun is actively pursuing clinical advancements in perforator flap breast reconstruction. With the help of radiologists at Montefiore Medical Center, he helped to develop a protocol to image the tiny blood vessels of the abdominal wall before surgery. This protocol is now used routinely by Dr. Greenspun, as well as other perforator flap surgeons, to help identify the best blood vessels for a particular patient’s reconstruction and to help decrease the time it takes to perform these delicate microsurgical procedures.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction from Canada's prestigious McGill University, Dr. Greenspun conducted advanced research for his Master of Science degree at McGill and the Montreal Neurological Institute. He returned to his native United States to graduate with his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with High Honors. Dr. Greenspun was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Greenspun trained in general surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and received his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Greenspun was trained by internationally renowned leaders in the field of plastic surgery. At Montefiore, he served as Chief Resident in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is the recipient of the Leo M. Davidoff Society Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students from the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Greenspun is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify plastic surgeons.
Dr. Greenspun, who is listed in the Consumers’ Research Council of America’s and , has authored numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, including the and the . He has presented his research at major national and international scientific meetings where several of his presentations have been awarded prizes for excellence. He holds clinical appointments at numerous New York hospitals including the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Roosevelt Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center as well as Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut.
